Retail fit out
Tradition against modern elegance — desert-sand tones, graceful curves and geometric pattern, built around a Ghaf tree as the centrepiece of the room.
A boutique where tradition meets modern elegance. The concept drew on the desert — graceful curves, geometric pattern and warm earthy tones reflecting Dubai’s heritage without tipping into pastiche.
At the centre of the room stands a Ghaf tree, the national tree of the UAE and a symbol of resilience. The retail plan is organised around it, so the centrepiece is structural to how the store works rather than an ornament placed in a corner.
Arched openings and geometric screening were made as joinery rather than formed in gypsum, which holds a crisper arris on the curve and lets the pieces be finished in the workshop instead of on site. Lighting is soft and layered so the fabric reads correctly — abaya retail lives or dies on how black fabric looks under the lights.
