Office fit out
Openness, creativity and community shaped the brief for the Polygon Agglayer office — a workspace that feels fluid and expressive while encouraging collaboration, movement and moments of pause through the day.
Polygon briefed us for a workspace that read as open, creative and communal rather than a floor of desks. The building is a converted Al Quoz industrial unit, which gave us volume and daylight to work with and an existing structure that set hard limits on where services could run.
We answered it with soft architectural forms — curved walls, layered floor levels and a circulation route that opens into breakout space rather than ending at a corridor. Biophilic planting runs through the plan as a material, not a decoration. The curved partitions were set out against the existing sprinkler grid and ceiling services before any framing went up, because a curve that fails to clear a sprinkler head becomes a straight wall on site.
Joinery came from our own Al Quoz workshop, minutes from site, which let us template the curved reception and banquette units against as-built dimensions rather than drawings. Lighting is layered: linear runs for the working floor, concealed coves in the curved soffits, and feature pendants over the collaborative tables.
Framed and skimmed to radius, set out against the existing sprinkler and ceiling services
Integrated into the plan with drainage and irrigation designed in, not surface planters
Reception, banquettes and storage made in our Al Quoz workshop and templated on site
Linear task lighting, concealed coves and feature pendants on separate circuits
