Custom furniture & upholstery
Made-to-measure sofas, beds and headboards, curtains, dining and office furniture, and reupholstery of the pieces you already own — produced in Al Quoz by the same in-house team that builds our interiors, and installed with the fit-out or on their own.
Most interiors in Dubai are finished with furniture bought after the design is done: a sofa that is a hand too short for the wall, a headboard that stops where the panelling should have continued, curtains that pool because the track went up before the ceiling was decided. The custom furniture market here is mostly small Al Quoz and Satwa workshops working from a photo on a phone, with no drawing, no sample and no one responsible for how the piece meets the walls, the floor and the joinery around it.
We make furniture the way we make joinery: from a site measure and a shop drawing, in our own workshop, with the upholsterers sitting next to the cabinet makers. The sofa is drawn on the same plan as the TV wall. The headboard is set out with the bedside joinery and the wall lights. The curtain track is coordinated with the gypsum ceiling before it is closed. If you only need one piece reupholstered, it goes through the same hands and the same inspection.
What we make
Each service below has its own page explaining how the piece is specified, made and installed.

Fabric and leather reupholstery of sofas, armchairs, dining chairs and headboards, with frame repair and new foam where it is needed.

Made-to-measure sofas, L-shapes, modular and majlis-scale seating on hardwood frames, drawn to the wall they sit against.

Upholstered headboards, wall-to-wall headboard panels, storage beds and the bedside joinery set out with them.

Made-to-measure curtains, sheers and blackout with tracks, motorised tracks and recessed pelmets coordinated with the ceiling.

Reception desks, workstations, boardroom tables, storage walls and breakout seating made for the office they go into.

Dining tables, consoles, coffee tables and chairs in solid timber, veneer, stone and metal from the joinery side of the workshop.

Floor-level and sofa-height majlis seating, bolsters and loose cushions, upholstered to the room and sized to the guest count.

Banquettes, booths, waiting-area and reception seating built to the wear and fire requirements of a commercial space.
How it is made
The route is the same whether it is one armchair recovered or the seating for a whole villa. What changes is how many drawings there are.
Start with a measureWe visit, measure the room and the access route — lift car, stair turns, door widths — and agree what the piece has to do: how many it seats, how deep and how firm, what it sits beside and what it has to clear. For reupholstery we inspect the frame, springs and foam and tell you honestly whether the piece is worth recovering.
You get a drawing in plan and elevation with overall dimensions, seat height and depth, back height, arm profile and leg detail. Built-in pieces are drawn on the same set as the joinery and gypsum so nothing clashes on site. Nothing is cut until the drawing is signed.
Fabric and leather are chosen from physical samples in the room they are for, not from a screen. We advise on rub count, fade resistance and cleanability for the way the piece will be used, and make a cushion or loose-cover sample where the finish matters. Foam density is agreed by sitting on it in the workshop.
Hardwood frames are built, sprung and foamed in Al Quoz by our own team, then upholstered by the same people who do our fit-out seating. You are welcome to see the frame before it is covered. Every piece is inspected at the bench before it leaves.
Delivered, placed and, where it is built-in or wall-fixed, installed and levelled by our own fitters. On fit-out projects the furniture is programmed into the handover so it arrives after the floors are finished and before the client walks in.

Specification & cost
We quote each piece from its drawing and its fabric, not from a catalogue price. These are the decisions that move the number, so you can make them deliberately.
Kiln-dried hardwood frames that are doweled and glued cost more than softwood or board frames and are the reason a sofa is still square after years of use. We do not build the cheaper kind.
Serpentine springs or webbing, foam density and whether the seat cushions are foam-only, foam wrapped in fibre, or feather-and-down over foam. Fill is the biggest difference between a sofa that is comfortable on delivery and one that is still comfortable later.
Fabric is priced by the metre and the quantity depends on the pattern repeat and the piece. A plain, high-rub-count contract fabric and a large-repeat velvet can be a long way apart for the same sofa. Leather is costed by the hide.
Deep buttoning, channel stitching, piping, contrast welts, fluted backs and curved arms all add bench hours. A plain tight-back sofa is the simplest piece to make well; a curved, channelled one is the most demanding.
Wall-to-wall headboards, banquettes and window seats are fixed on site and set out against the joinery and the gypsum, so they carry installation and coordination that a freestanding piece does not.
Recovering is worth it when the frame is hardwood and sound. On a board frame with collapsed springs, the honest answer is a new piece, and we will say so at the inspection.
Send a photo of the room or the piece and the rough dimensions. We will visit, measure, bring fabric samples, and come back with a drawing and a price for the piece itself rather than a figure off a phone photo.
Common questions
Ordering, fabrics, reupholstery and how it fits with a wider project. If yours is not here, call +971 50 448 3095.
Both. A single sofa, a headboard, a set of curtains or one armchair to recover goes through the same workshop as the seating for a whole villa. Standalone orders are measured, drawn and sampled the same way; they are simply quicker to coordinate because there is no fit-out programme around them.
Yes. Frames, foam, upholstery, curtains and the timber pieces are all made in our own workshop in Al Quoz Industrial First, by our in-house team. You are welcome to visit the workshop to see a frame before it is covered or to choose fabric against the timber finish of the joinery it will sit next to.
That is the main reason to use one workshop for both. The headboard is set out with the bedside units and the wall panelling; the banquette is drawn against the dining table; the sofa fabric is chosen against the TV wall veneer. Because the upholsterers and the joiners share a floor, the pieces are made to meet each other rather than approximately matched afterwards.
Three things matter here: sun, air conditioning and use. Fabric in a window-facing room needs a good lightfastness rating or it will fade unevenly; constant air conditioning dries leather, so it needs the right finish and occasional conditioning; and a family or a restaurant seat needs a high rub count and a cleanable face. We bring physical samples to the room and tell you which ones will not survive it.
If the frame is hardwood and still square, and the springs have not collapsed, reupholstering with new foam gives you a piece as good as new in exactly the fabric you want. If the frame is board or softwood and has moved, recovering only hides the problem. We inspect before quoting and give you a straight answer either way.
Yes. Banquettes, booth seating, waiting-area benches, reception seating and breakout furniture are built to the harder specification a commercial space needs: contract-grade fabrics or leather, fire-performance requirements where the authority asks for them, and frames made for continuous use. Recent examples include the seating at Accogliente restaurant in JVC and the lounge furniture in the Polygon office in Al Quoz.
We measure the access route at the site visit, not on delivery day. Large sofas for tower apartments are designed in sections that bolt together in the room; headboards and banquettes are made in panels sized to the lift car. If something genuinely cannot be brought in whole, you will know at drawing stage.
A dimensioned drawing of the piece, a physical fabric or leather sample, and a quotation that lists the frame, fill, fabric quantity and any detailing separately so you can see what each decision costs. For built-in pieces the drawing is coordinated with the joinery and ceiling set and issued with them.
Yes. We deliver and install across the UAE, including Abu Dhabi and Sharjah. The apartment at Lamar and The Dahlia residence, both in Abu Dhabi, were furnished from the Al Quoz workshop.
