Custom beds & headboards
Upholstered headboards, wall-to-wall headboard panels, storage beds and the bedside joinery that goes with them — made to measure in our own Al Quoz workshop and set out with the wall lights, the wardrobes and the curtains before the bedroom is finished.
Most bedrooms in Dubai are finished in the wrong order. The wall lights go up where the electrician guessed, the wardrobes stop where the stock sizes stopped, and then a headboard arrives from a showroom and sits a hand short of the bedside units with the lights falling in the wrong place. It is the single most visible wall in the house and it is usually the least coordinated.
We make the headboard as part of the bedroom wall. It is set out on the same drawing as the wall lights, the power and USB points, the bedside units and the wardrobes, so the panel runs exactly to the joinery, the lights land in the centre of the panels and the cables are inside the upholstery rather than taped down the wall. Upholsterers and joiners share the same floor in Al Quoz, so the fabric is chosen against the wardrobe veneer and the curtain fabric rather than matched afterwards. If we are designing the whole bedroom, the bed is specified with it.
What we make
Every piece is made to the wall and the mattress you have, not to a size chart.

Upholstered panels across the full wall with the bedside units and wall lights set into them, cables concealed inside.

Freestanding or wall-fixed, plain, channelled, fluted or deep-buttoned, in fabric or leather, to the height the ceiling allows.

Veneer, slatted and fluted timber headboards with upholstered inserts, made on the joinery side of the workshop.

Upholstered and timber frames for any mattress size, including floating platforms with concealed lighting underneath.

Lift-up and drawer storage beds for apartments where the wardrobe is never big enough, built to the mattress you own.

Floating bedside units, niches, shelving and dressing tables built into the headboard panel and finished to match it.

Solid timber and metal four-posters and canopy beds made as one piece with the room’s joinery.

An existing headboard recovered in new fabric or leather to suit a new scheme, through the same workshop.
How it is made
The order matters. A headboard panel that is set out after the electrician has finished is a headboard with the lights in the wrong place.
Book a measureWe measure the wall, the ceiling height, the mattress you have or intend to buy, and the positions of the window, the door and the air-conditioning grille. The headboard, the bedside units, the wall lights and the power and USB points are set out together on one elevation so they agree with each other and with the wardrobes opposite.
An elevation and section showing height, width, panel layout, buttoning or channel spacing, the fixing method, where the lights and sockets pass through the upholstery, and the joinery that meets it. Nothing is cut until it is signed.
Fabric or leather is chosen from physical samples against the wardrobe veneer, the curtain fabric and the flooring. Where the detailing matters — channel width, button spacing, a contrast welt — we make a sample panel in the workshop so you approve the real thing rather than a sketch.
Headboard frames, panels, bed frames and bedside joinery are made in Al Quoz by one team, so the upholstered panel and the timber unit beside it are finished to meet each other. Each piece is inspected at the bench before it leaves.
Wall-fixed panels go up after the electrician has first-fixed the lights and sockets and the wall is painted, and before the curtains are hung. Our own fitters install, level and connect through, then assemble and place the bed.

Specification & cost
Each piece is quoted from its drawing and its fabric, with the upholstery, the joinery and the installation listed separately. These are the decisions that move the number.
A freestanding headboard behind the bed is the simplest piece. A wall-to-wall panel with bedside units, lights and sockets passing through it is a small fit-out, and is priced as one.
Plain, channelled, fluted or deep-buttoned. Each step adds bench hours and fabric. Deep buttoning on a large-repeat fabric is the most demanding.
Headboards use less fabric than sofas but are the most looked-at surface in the room, so the grade shows. Velvets and leathers sit at the top; plain performance fabrics at the bottom.
A simple upholstered frame costs less than a storage bed with gas-lift mechanisms or a floating platform with concealed lighting and a cantilevered steel sub-frame.
Bedside units, niches and dressing tables built into the panel are joinery items and priced as such, finished to match the wardrobes.
Wall-fixed panels need the electrician first-fixed and the wall painted before we install, and coordination with the curtain track above. Freestanding pieces are simply delivered and placed.
Send a photo of the wall and the mattress size. We will visit, measure, set out the lights and the bedside units with the headboard, and come back with an elevation and a price.
Common questions
Sizes, fixing, fabrics and how it fits with the rest of the bedroom. If yours is not here, call +971 50 448 3095.
Yes, and it is the piece we make most often. The panel is set out to the exact wall width, with the bedside units and wall lights positioned on it and the cables run inside the upholstery. It is made in sections sized to the lift and the door, fixed to the wall on a concealed rail, and finished so the joins fall on a channel or a seam.
Yes. The frame is made to the mattress you own or intend to buy, whatever its size, including emperor and super-king sizes and the slightly different dimensions of imported mattresses. Measure the mattress or give us the brand and model and we build to it.
Yes, and they should. We set out the lights, switches, sockets and USB points on the headboard drawing, the electrician first-fixes to those positions, and the upholstered panel is cut to receive them so the fittings sit clean on the fabric with no visible cable. This only works if the headboard is designed before the electrician finishes, which is why we ask to be involved early.
A headboard takes less wear than a sofa but is touched every day at head height, so it needs a cleanable face. Velvets, bouclés and linens all work; performance versions of each exist and are worth it in a child’s room. Leather suits channelled and buttoned designs. We bring samples to the room and check them against the wardrobe finish and the curtains.
That is the advantage of one workshop. The headboard panel, the bedside units and the wardrobes are drawn together and the fabric is chosen against the veneer or lacquer, so the room reads as one piece rather than three suppliers’ approximations.
Yes. Lift-up beds with gas struts and drawer beds are the usual answer in apartments where wardrobe space runs out. They are built to the mattress you have, and the base is made deep enough for what you want to store rather than to a stock depth.
Yes, if the board and frame are sound. It is recovered in your new fabric or leather through our reupholstery service, and we can add or remove buttoning or channelling at the same time. If the existing piece is the wrong size for the wall, a new one is usually the better spend.
Yes. For hospitality and serviced-apartment projects we make headboards and bed bases in repeat, in contract-grade fabric, with a sample room approved first. The same team delivers the hospitality interior around them.
Yes, across the UAE. The bedrooms at The Dahlia and the apartment at Lamar, both in Abu Dhabi, were made in the Al Quoz workshop and installed by our own fitters.
