Private residence
Sophisticated minimalism where natural texture meets contemporary detail — a backlit fluid-form mirror, slatted timber accents and a floating console set the tone from the entrance.
Sophisticated minimalism where natural texture meets contemporary detail. The brief was a home that felt welcoming on arrival rather than austere, which is the usual failure mode of a minimal interior.
The entryway sets the tone with a curated mix of natural texture and contemporary art. A fluid-shaped backlit mirror becomes the focal point, complemented by sleek panelling and a floating timber console. A slatted timber accent wall with an arched profile adds depth, and organic pendant lights cast a soft, gathering light.
The backlit mirror and slatted arch were both made in our own workshop. A fluid-form mirror is a joinery problem as much as a lighting one — the backing, the LED channel and the return all have to be built as one piece to light evenly.
